Welcome to the Dollhouse Episode 14: All Eyes on Us with Kit Kowalski and Edie Wyatt. Many apologies for the lateness of this episode.
In The Genderverse
Tickle v Giggle
The case is going ahead!
Cost capping in place (but only limited to the constitutional challenge elements?)
Check here for hearing dates and documents
Holly Lawford-Smith has done a nice little explainer about the case.
Get yourself a nice TEAM GIGGLE t-shirt on Etsy.
Riley Returns!
Riley is back in another Reduxx feature. This time, a video showing a women’s soccer match where a larger player slams a competitor into a chain-link fence.
She does not get up.
Australian Politics
Greens Bun Fight
Read all about the Tweets that Rohan Leppert liked!
And why some random troll accounts did not like that he liked those tweets.
Great summary thread by Nina Vallins (expelled from The Greens and criticised for her ‘virulent transphobia’, whatever that means)
Priorities
Edie and Kit muse on a recent article by Gina Rinehart and why The Greens aren’t the ones giving us this kind of hard education about Australia’s reliance on coal.
Honestly, Greens, where does climate change sit in your list of priorities? When did you stop being earth defenders and when did you start treating our political arena like the finale of Bugsy Malone?
Australian Labor Party
Draft platform: https://alp.org.au/media/3413/230519-alp-national-platform-consultation-draft.pdf
The language has been softened, moving away from a hard commitment to strengthening laws, replacing it with a commitment to “work closely with LGBTIQ+” advocates.
In a contentious move the ALP has published a draft of their new platform that has “cut back on LGBTIQ policy commitments” and is causing a bit of a tizzy.
It is difficult to comprehend why previous ALP support for vilification protections has been axed in the current political climate, with TERFs and neo-Nazis rallying on the steps of Victorian Parliament, Christian Lives Matter rioting in Sydney, Mark Latham being Mark Latham, and escalating violent threats against local councils hosting Drag Story Time events (and LGBTIQ community events more broadly). — https://alastairlawrie.net/2023/05/31/the-alp-has-cut-back-on-lgbtiq-policy-commitments-in-its-party-platform-again/
The platform is a draft, and anything can happen between now and it being formalised.

Shifting Sands for the Aussies
The Australian Goes “Full TERF”, publishing several probing articles regarding childhood transition in a row.
Starting with Judges warned on gender protocols and related articles. Keep an eye on Natasha Robinson’s work here.

who deserves an AO. Or at least a large beer.Family Court Briefing - Thank you Belle Lane!
Victorian Barrister Belle Lane has prepared a thorough briefing for the Australian Family Law Profession titled “Gender questioning children and family law: an evolving landscape”. It thoroughly assesses the claims made around gender medicine for children.
We direct your gaze to the last word on the last page of this 135 page tome. Under the heading “Appendix C: Possible questions for the experts” is the word that is forbidden by gender identity ideologists: “Regret?”
We thank you Belle Lane!

The Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has intervened since 2004
These are the cases concerning childhood transition where AHRC has formally intervened. This list doesn’t count any other types of support AHRC may have provided.

Unfortunately, some of the cases above have set a precedent that means the bulk of children seeking transition will not be brought before a judge.
Between the Tweets
JK Rowling has weighed in and defended Melbourne #LetWomenSpeak organiser, Angela Jones against allegations of Nazism. JKR has retweeted Ange and sent a message of solidarity via twitter.
Do check out Ange’s YouTube show TERF Talk Down Under. Of course, we don’t need to tell you about it, unless you’ve been living under a rock this whole time! Stassja and Ange started the original female fightback weekly youtube. We thank you!

Remember to celebrate “Prude Month!”
Thanks to Janet Fraser, we have an antidote for the rainbow onslaught this month. Pour yourself a nice up of tea and welcome to Prude Month, where we think prudent thoughts and talk about the weather a bit.
